Monochloramine

Online monochloramine measurement is typically achieved by measuring free and total chlorine and assuming the difference is predominantly monochloramine. Whilst this is sufficient in some applications, a better way of monitoring monochloramine specifically is to utilise online UV spectroscopy.

By using multiple UV wavelengths, online monitoring of monochloramine, nitrate and nitrite in drinking water networks can be achieved and an understanding of the degree of nitrification in the network is possible.
