UV-Vis Spectroscopy

200-750nm

Spectrophotometers are used to measure the absorbance of light across the UV and visible regions of the electromagnetic spectrum. UV-Vis spectroscopy is a powerful tool for a chemist.

Online spectrophotometers are able to measure multiple parameters simultaneously using this technique. Anything that absorbs light in this region can theoretically be detected. Typical parameters include, UV254, colour, nitrate, nitrite, sulphide and many more.

An online spectrophotometer is a flexible tool and with some advanced turbidity compensation mechanisms can measure even small changes in the absorbance even in variable water such as raw water.
